简介: Bin Zhao received B.S. and M.S. degrees in polymer chemistry from the University of Science and Technology of China and a Ph.D. degree in polymer science in 2000 from the University of Akron. After completing his postdoctoral research on microfluidics at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, he started his independent career in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Tennessee Knoxville as an assistant professor in 2002. He was promoted to associate professor in 2008 and full professor in 2013. His current research interests include macromolecular brush materials, stimuli-responsive polymers, and liquid crystalline polymers. He has authored and co-authored over 100 publications, with a total of > 8500 citations and a h-index of 44 (Google Scholar). He received Chancellor’s Award for Professional Promise in Research and Creative Achievement in 2010 and Paul and Wilma Ziegler Professorship from the University of Tennessee Knoxville, and Polymer Science Distinguished Alumni Award from the University of Akron in 2013. He was a member of Editorial Advisory Board of Macromolecules (01/2009 – 12/2011).
